If you've ever visited NightPro venue Mynt Lounge, chances are, you've noticed the endlessly energetic Corey Lambert behind the bar. Since moving there three years ago, he's become one of the most popular bartenders in town. We caught up with Corey to learn how he got into bartending and what it's like working at one of South Beach's hottest nightclubs.
Corey Lambert | Mynt Lounge
Hometown: Baltimore, Maryland
What to Know: Take one look at Corey's social media pages alone, and you'll find a 27-year-old who — simply put — knows how to party. Whether he's loading up a shot ski, popping a bottle of champagne, or shaking up a mixed drink with a huge grin on his face, the Miami-based bartender just oozes a good time. As even he said, "Yeah, I know I have the best job ever... it's no big deal."
When and how did you get into bartending?
I was waiting tables at a bar in Ocean City, Maryland, and the owner had just opened a huge restaurant next door and had zero staff. He tells me he has a college graduation party of 400 coming in and needs me to "make it happen," so I got my roommate and a few other servers behind the bar. I remember someone asking me for a kamikaze, and I told them we were out! [Laughs] We were in the weeds all night, but in the end, we pulled it off!
What's your favorite part of working at Mynt?
Mynt has such a positive energy; as soon as you walk in the door, you can feel it. We are a close group of friends and try and make everyone who comes feel like family. Whether you have been coming to Mynt for 15 years or it's your first time, you're treated the same.

We have a wide variety of champagne and tequila. My favorite drink to make is Grapefruit Paloma.

What's the one drink you'd rather never mix again?
Soco and lime. I drank about 26 of them one night a few years back and still can't smell it...
What's the most unusual drink request you've ever received?
This lady once asked me for vodka and milk.
What's one important skill a bartender must have?
You have to be charming. Even if you mess something up, you should be able to talk your way out of it.
What advice would you give to an aspiring bartender?
Practice all the time, watch YouTube videos, and practice. No matter how much noise you make or how many bottles you break, just keep practicing.
What's the funniest thing you've seen happen from behind the bar?
One of our go-go dancers was on stage dancing, and her top fell off, and she didn't realize until someone told her.
Favorite holiday to work?
New Year's Eve, for sure!
